Art & Music at St. Paul's
|
| Art & Music at St. Paul's are literally coming out of the wood, or brick work. There are a number of commissioned works of art here such as the Stations of the Cross, several stained glass windows (C. Anderson & T. Anderson), the tall red cross hanging over the altar in the sanctuary and many others.
We are blessed with many wonderful volunteer and paid staff Musicians that contribute to our Music Program and that share in the beautiful, traditional Episcopal service. The Adult & Youth Choir sings at the later service throughout the year. The Childrens' Choir sings on special occasions, and is comprised of children from the Sunday Christian Education classes and is open to children in the DeKalb, Sycamore & Northern Illinois University communities.

| St. Paul's is proud to support & congratulate two of our staff musicians (Lorraine Langer, Soprano and SangHee Han, Pianist) who performed in The PianoForte Foundation's 6th annual Schubertiade Chicago, a free all-day marathon festival celebrating the music of Franz Schubert on Saturday, January 30th, 2010.
Performers included many of Chicago's best and brightest musicians, both rising stars and established artists and always a few special guests from out of town. A wide spectrum of Schubert's music, with Lieder, chamber ensembles and pianists. It has long been a tradition throughout Europe to celebrate the genius of Schubert on the anniversary of his birth, January 31, 1797. The PianoForte Foundation has brought this tradition to Chicago for the past 5 years, with every celebration drawing greater and more enthralled audiences. The 2010 event called forth a marathon of music making from a variety of chamber ensembles and soloists in THREE simultaneous performance halls on the 8th floor of the Fine Arts Building, located at 410 South Michigan Avenue for more information go to (http://www.pianofortefoundation.org/concerts-and-events/schubertiade-festival/)
