Thanks to all who participated in St. Paul's Episcopal Church's second annual Blue Christmas gathering on Sunday, December 20th, 2009 at 4 p.m. This was a wonderful time of sharing and hearing prayers, Scripture and music that acknowledge that God's presence for those who mourn - and that God's Word comes to shine light into our darkness regardless of our struggles. the brief service was followed by a time for light refreshments and fellowship.

The constant refrain on the radio and television, in shopping malls and churches about the happiness of the Christmas season reminds many people of what they have lost or have never had.
Broken relationships, the insecurity of unemployment, ill health, the pain of isolation, the loss of a loved one - all of these can leave people feeling alone or 'blue' in the midst of the society around us which seems bent on being happy and celebrating. It is at such times that we need to take the time to acknowledge our sadness and concern and know that we are not alone.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church is hosting a Blue Christmas gathering on Sunday, December 20th, 2009 at 4 p.m. The public is invited to join in sharing and hearing prayers, Scripture and music that acknowledge that God's presence for those who mourn - and that God's Word comes to shine light into our darkness regardless of our struggles. the brief service will be followed by a time for light refreshments and fellowship.
